Blog 6: How to find outdoor climbing routes

For this week’s class, we had Rich McCue come in and give a workshop on different technological resources that teachers can use within their classroom. In class, we learnt how to use Screencastify, a Chrome extension that allows the user to screen record the screen. Screencastify makes it easy to record your screen, edit, and share videos. I remember using Khan Academy when I was younger, and I thought that the videos that Khan Academy used were really engaging. As a future teacher, I can definitely see myself using this to help add different variations of learning for my own students.

I Screencastified a website I use often, called The Crag. It’s a large database where rock climbers can post different climbing routes and areas around the world. While quite user friendly, it can be a little bit complicated with all the different features it holds within it. Here is a How To video for The Crag:
